This post lists the DJI Fly app-compatible devices tells you how to check the compatibility of your phones or tablets, and helps you to choose the right one for your drone.
One of the most important things about flying your DJI Mini, Air, and Mavic drones is to make sure the smartphone or tablet you use is compatible with the DJI Fly App.
It not only ensures a better flying experience but will also save you from a possible drone crash or fly away, especially for beginner pilots. Just imagine, if your drone is miles away, suddenly the DJI Fly App freezes or quits unexpectedly, you might be getting a little bit of panic.
The DJI FPV drone also uses the DJI Fly app, though you don’t need the app to fly it, you still need to use it to activate the aircraft and the FPV Goggles before flying.

What phones and tablets are compatible with DJI Fly app?
How to know if my device is compatible
The easiest way is to check this DJI Fly Phone and Tablet compatibility list (DJI Fly works with DJI Mini 3 Pro, DJI Mavic 3, DJI Air 2S, DJI FPV, DJI Mini 2, Mavic Air 2, and Mavic Mini). All the phones and tablets in it are tested by both DJI and users. If so, you can set your mind at rest.
If not, you will need to make sure your phone or tablet:
1. Meets the system requirements of the DJI App. Here are the DJI Fly system requirements:
- iOS: Requires iOS 11.0 or above. (If your device can’t be updated to iOS 11, click here to download the DJI Fly iOS 10 version)
- Android: Requires Android 7.0 or above.
According to many users’ feedback, devices that run a 32-bit Android OS have compatibility issues, so Android devices also need to:
How to check if your Android device is 64-bit or 32-bit? There are two ways to do this:
1) Use the 64Bit Checker
3. Comes with ARM CPUs
If you follow the guide on how to check the Android OS, you will have already installed either the 64-Bit Checker or the AnTuTu Benchmark app.
If you go with the 64 Bit Checker, you can easily find the CPU info on the screen. For those who use the AnTuTu, just go to My Device > CPU, and you will see the information about your device’s CPU Architecture. The info needs to be written “ARM“.
Then you can download the DJI Fly App and have a try. Normally, you won’t have any issues, but you’d better keep your DJI Air 2S, DJI Mini SE, DJI Mini 2, Mavic Air 2, or Mavic Mini in the eyesight and fly it in an open area because users do have problems with phones that meet the App’s requirements.
If your phone or device doesn’t fall into the compatibility list or meet the system requirements, you will need to get a new one. Just choose one from the compatibility list according to your brand preference and budget.
DJI Fly Compatible Phones and Tablets
Please note that phones or tablets on the list are tested by both DJI and pilots. The ones in italic are tested by users, others are tested by DJI.
If you are flying your drone with an iPad or a Tablet, you will need to use a drone tablet holder.
DJI Mavic 3, DJI Air 2S, DJI FPV, DJI Mini 2, DJI Mimi SE, Mavic Air 2, and Mavic Mini Compatible iPhones and iPads
Most iPhones and iPads released in recent years are compatible. When it comes to the best phone or tablet for your Mavic drone, we recommend you choose the latest model.

DJI Mavic 3, DJI Air 2S, DJI Mini 3, DJI Mini 2, DJI Mini SE, Mavic Air 2, and Mavic Mini Compatible Android Phones and Tablets
Please note that:
1. There are too many different models of Android phones and tablets in the market, so the Android compatibility issue is much more complicated. If you find devices in the list that do not work, please let us know the details of the device’s specs.
2. DJI won’t test every single qualified phone in the market, it only tests those that have a relatively larger market share. This list includes devices that are tested by both DJI and drone pilots. The ones in italic are from users’ feedback, they should be no problem, but I still recommend you test it yourself.
3. The firmware released on Jan 14th, 2021 has solved the Android 10 compatibility issue.

Troubleshooting: DJI Fly Installation and Connection Issues
After I did some research on FB Mavic Mini groups and other drone forums, I found that a lot of Android users are experiencing compatibility issues because not every single Android phone or tablet is on DJI’s compatibility list.
Here are the most typical problems:
1. What is the best tablet for DJI Mavic 3, DJI Air 2S, DJI FPV, DJI Mini 2, DJI Mimi SE, Mavic Air 2, and Mavic Mini?
Currently, the iPad Mini 5 is considered to be the best tablet for DJI Mavic drones based on its price, compatibility, and size.
2. What tablets work with the DJI Fly app?
When it comes to DJI Fly compatible tablets, it’s a bit complicated as there are so many Android models out there. If you are looking for a new tablet to fly your drone, then just follow DJI’s recommend list. If you’ve already got a tablet, you will need to make sure it meets the system requirements.
3. What are the best DJI Fly settings for Mavic Air 2 and Mavic Mini?
DJI Fly is a new app that can only be used with Mavic Air 2 and Mavic Mini currently, Getting to know the new app thoroughly before flying is very important for safety and capturing better footage and photos. Here is a guide to DJI Fly’s in-depth review and best settings for Mavic Air 2 and Mavic Mini.
4. The App is not on the Google Play Store on your device.
Open your browser, and go to dji.com/fly to scan the QR code to download and install the app. If you have a problem installing the DJI Fly app, this post will help you out.
5. You failed to install DJI Fly or the app just doesn’t open after installing successfully.
When you are on the DJI Fly App page, you get a popup saying “This app is not compatible with your device“. First, go check your Android OS version: Settings > About Device > Android Version (this may vary according to different smartphone brands). If your device’s OS is under 7.0.0 and there is a system update available, go for it.
If your phone or tablet runs the Android 7.0 or above system but you still can’t install or launch the App, you will need to check your Android and CPU Architecture.
6. You have no problem launching the app but can’t connect the aircraft with the remote controller
- Try with another USB cable or remove and insert the USB cable again. It is recommended to use the original USB cable. If the original one is too short and you have to buy a new one, make sure it’s fully compatible.
- For Android devices, check whether the “USB debugging” is turned on. Then go to settings > Applications > Application manager, and select DJI Fly. Click “Set as default” and “Clear defaults”. Then reconnect the mobile device and launch DJI Fly.
- Update the firmware and the DJI Fly app. Do you have the latest version of DJI Fly? Have you updated the firmware? Make sure that you keep your firmware and DJI Fly up-to-date.

Mavic Air 2 vs DJI Mini 2 vs Mavic Mini: Which One to Choose?
It’s very frustrating. I feel the same. Bought Mavic 3 Pro now can’t find a phone that’s truly compatible. Picked a Samsung 21FE (not purchased yet) but checking forum seems IT has freeze screen problems, app froze etc. Anyone reading this who can verify S21fe is good 👍
Figures, I was just looking at the S21 (and 400 others) the other day and decided to go with the A50 or A51 now it appears after I spent hours looking neither may be a good choice.
This whole phone issue is ridiculous. I don’t get it. I have a P4P+ I’ve never got the maps to work and now for X-mas a FPV that I can’t even fly until I buy a phone. (I think it may be something my wife knew and it is Karma for getting her a “green”, manual roller vacuum for our 38th). How many thousands of dollars does Dji expect us to spend? Dji’s Opinion, whatever it takes. Your time and money is not of our concern.
This whole phone thing is shot in the dark at the owner’s expense. Is there actually a list Dji has put their name on? So far, I’ve found one from a everybody but Dji. Dji needs to supply a controller with the drone at just above their cost. Even better they need some stiff competition. Maybe sooner or later current and future buyers will notice how ridiculous, time consuming and expensive it can be dealing with Dji. Oh, I love this fix. Go test it yourself to see!
Hey, if doesn’t work which (based on the number of phones, Tabs and notes) that it more than likely it won’t! You can always repack it and (after 2hrs of figuring that out which in most cases takes a degree in mechanical engineering and Physics) take it back to the store right! Ridiculous. Better yet, at least be smart about it, take the drone, food and water and a couple spare batteries and save a dozen trips! Oh, (we weren’t but) talk about stupid answer here’s one. I called Tech Support (what’s in a name, right), I’m probably not alone here either. Anyway, their answer to the phone compatibility. “Buy an ioS phone most of those work”! Are you sh….. me! Verbatim ladies and gentlemen. Verbatim! If I’m lyin’.. I’m dyin’.
Huawei Y 9 Prime 2019 and Huawei P smart 2021 works perfectly with DJI fly app. enjoyed finally flying my Dji Mini SE. thank you for this Forum it helped me a lot after the trauma I had not knowing what to do and the list of what is working or not it kept me in a right direction.
HUAWEI P Smart 2021 works perfect with Dji Fly App
Samsung A3 Core not working with Dji Fly App recently bought Dji Mini Se fly more combo. can’t fly and other apps they not showing the camera preview on my phone.
The TCL T10L Android phone is compatible and works great
I recently purchase a Dji marvic mini.
I own a Samsung S10 + and I’ve downloaded the dji fly app and it doesn’t work I’ve tried everything but have no success. It shows that it is compatible. Has anyone else had issue. Oh by the way the Dji home official tells me that the
Samsung S10+ hasn’t been tested with the Marvic Mini

Hi, I have the Mavic Mini drone and the Samsung S10 phone. It works perfectly for me.
Mine phone is working with the app

I own a samsung galaxy a53 which isn’t on the list, but it indeed WORKS. I will admit, when you go to record 4k the live feed freezes, until your done recording. It does save your footage, but your recording blind. Wish they would add this phone to there list and fix the issue!!.
Samsung A13 is on incompatibility list.
POCO F3 and Xiaomi Mi 10 lite are compatible devices
Hello, can you please add realme 9 Pro 5G
S22 Ultra dział przez 2 miesiące. Po którejś aktualizacja Android już nie działa.
Redmi 7a Not compatible
Hello everyone, I have found a solution. My phone is the Moto G Play (2021). Take it back off the list.
So first you want to go here ( https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/mobile/folders/1No6Y6900jugASpW_LB7UDL6GevH4WVg5?usp=sharing ). This is a public Google Drive folder of all the previous and up-to-date individual DJI Fly app versions down to version 1.2.0 since that is the specific version that first started supporting the mini 2. My version I needed was the 1.4.0 which is the first version to support the air 2s. Anyways, I obtained the Google drive link from this YouTube video’s description link ( https://youtu.be/tuIURPFQ8zc ). The guy in the video is the owner of the Google drive folder and keeps updating it constantly.
Remember, to run the DJI Fly app, your phone has to run at least 3GB of RAM, run a 64bit operating system, run an 8 core processor, and have Android 6.0 or above installed. I’ve read some cases of phones running with 2gb of RAM but the rest of the things I listed above are a hard requirement. However, even if your not sure, it doesn’t hurt to try it out and see if you phone is compatible with an older version. To find out your phone’s hardware and software, look at the about section on your phone’s settings app and if that doesn’t give enough info then download an app called CPU-Z on the Google play store and that’ll provide you with the rest of the info you need. Also, before I say anything else, find out if your phone already has an APK package installer. If it doesn’t then find and download one on the Google play store since you will need to use the APK package installer app for the whole installation process of the DJI Fly app. You can find more info on how to do this as well using the same YouTube video I linked above.
Anyways, I found out my phone was only able to download versions 1.3.0 and lower but I needed version 1.4.0 for the air 2s support update. So what I first did was download both versions 1.3.0 and 1.4.0 from the Google Drive link I listed above (to find out which version you need you could click on each version individually and it’ll give you info on which drone it first started supporting along with other patch notes and you’ll have the download file right next to the patch note file so click on the download file and accept the download warning and now you should be good to go once it finishes but be patient as it’s a large file size around 350 MB), then I went into the APK installer app and first installed version 1.3.0, then afterwards I tried installing 1.4.0 while also using the APK installer app and I got a notification asking me if I want to install the 1.4.0 version over the 1.3.0 so I accepted it and it installed and the app works perfectly now. Keep in mind my phone wouldn’t let me only install version 1.4.0 directly but it only worked when I installed it over the previous installed version of 1.3.0. I then tried installing the most current up-to-date version over 1.4.0 but it wouldn’t install most likely due to higher hardware requirements so I guess I’m stuck with this version. However it doesn’t hurt to keep trying to update better versions over older installed app versions. So keep doing that until your phone won’t let you install a higher version of the app anymore. It’s strange how much work I had to do to finally find this solution but it’s the only one there is. My DJI fly app runs nearly perfectly on my phone, small amount of lag but is fully operational nonetheless. No need to buy a new phone unless you want the most up-to-date version and no lag. No need to thank me, your welcome. I felt this needed to be put out to help everyone out since it worked for me.
samsung a11…..sigh, why are these allowed into the country!
Add Moto G Play (2021) to the list. I already tried downloading the latest android version from the DJI website and I used an APK installer from the Google play store like everyone suggests yet it didn’t work. Even downloading an older version of the DJI Fly app did not work. I have no clue why my phone doesn’t let me install the app as it has 3gb ram, is 64bit, has an 8 core processor, and runs on Android 11 in which I’m sure these are all the requirements to run the app on Android devices. If anyone has any other suggestions or solutions please tell me quickly. I’m dreading having to shell out another few hundred dollars on an iPhone. But it seems like I might have to. Also can anyone tell me about their experience or confirm if the new iPhone SE 3rd gen (2022) works with the DJI Fly app? I want to make sure that model works before buying it as it’s not on on the compatibility list but I’m sure it may work due to that specific model passing all the hardware/software requirements. Thanks.
moto G7 power, 64bit, android 10, app is not even launching
POCO X3NFC
POCO X3PRO
Working!
Is DJI app for the mini 2 compatible with my Motorola edge 5g UW 2021
Is yours still working? if so what miui and android version are you on? and which version of dji fly?
DJI mini 2 wont work with my iPhone 11
Aplikacja działa również na Realne GT Neo 2
Huawei Y6S also doesn’t run the DJi Fly app
Also not connecting are 2 different Samsung S20 FE 5G phones. I was able to make 2 flights and neither has worked since. I have a cheap iPhone SE coming to try the app on a “non-android” phone. If it works then it will be a spare or sell it (Mavic Mini SE). I ordered the Mini 3 pro so I do not need to rely on a phone to fly. Would have been nice to have not wasted $400 on the Mini, accessories, iPhone…. Live an learn.
At first, my my pixel 4a5g is compatible with fly app. I used it in 2 months but when I update the dji, dji fly app wont work anymore…
Does the boost revvl v+5g compatible with the DJI mini se?
I guess so.
redmi 10 note working with Dji
Add the Samsung A10e to tha list it has 64bit chip and runs 32bit os >_< both have to be 64bit.
Samsung Xcover 4 is Not Compatible 32 bit OS, Just ordered a Samsung Note 9 .. (Used).
Another $400 and 2 more weeks of waiting. This is getting costly and I don’t even know if the Dji Mini 2 even works yet.

Samsung s20 ultra też nie działa
Installed the dji Fly app on a Motorola Moto G Power. Activated the aircraft OK. The app just sits at the page showing some kind of Academy tutorial. Won’t move off that. No video from the camera on the phone.
Having problems downloading Dji fly app. I have Samsung s8 PLEASE HELP I just bought Dji Mavic AIR2
Have you tried downloading by scanning the QR code on DJI.com?
Have both the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Samsung ZFlip 35G.
These phones have been out for some time now and DJI is saying engineers are still working on testing the devices.
How long does it take?
I have a useless $2,000 drone (paper weight) now!!
Get it together 🤬
I tested, and the DJI Fly app works with the Samsung Galaxy A12.
However, it doesn’t work with the Galaxy A13! It’s a more recent phone, but it doesn’t work…
They can both be added to the list: -A12: compatible
-A13: not compatible
The Samsung A13 phone is NOT compatible with DJI fly…
Guten Tag
Ich hatte vor mir die Drohne zu kaufen nur finde ich nirgends eine App im Store
Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra gibt es dafür eine Software überhaupt und passt dieses Handy in die halterung der Fernbedienung
LG
The app doesn’t work with the OnePlus 9 Pro either 🙁
The one + 9 will work with the app. First thing you do is uninstall the DJI fly app if you’ve already tried to install it on your OnePlus 9 then reinstall it fresh from the DJI website in the download section of support. Download it but don’t install it yet then go to Google Play store and download an APK installer when the APK installer is finished I think I used the third one that comes up on the list I’m not sure but that shouldn’t matter. Once the APK installer is downloaded and installed on your device open it and let it detect the DJI APK then open it from the APK installer app that you just got and that will install it on your phone and it should operate fine from there good luck
No probs with latest firmware update on S21+.
How did you get this to work cause I have the Samsung 21 ultra and can’t get it to download or opens on my garmin watch app but doesn’t do anything
Same problem. It opens my printer app instead of DJI Fly. I have the S21 plus. This is RIDICULOUS!!
S21 is not compatible with Mavic 2 Pro
You can add my f***ing SAMSUNG C5 to incompatibility list…. Cant install the DJI Fly.
Yep, add the Samsung s21 to the shit list as well, grrrrrrr
You can add my Samsung S20 FE to the non compatible list
