What is Mavic 2 APAS?

APAS is short for Advanced Pilot Assistant Systems. When flying forward or backward, APAS uses the Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensors to automatically detect the obstacles, the pilot can still control the drone because it can plan its path by going over or under the obstacles. If it fails to create a path, the drone will just hover in place and wait for the command from the pilot.

It also allows you to press the pause button during an APAS flight. Please note that APAS can only work when flying forwards and backwards, when you fly sideways, it will deactivated.

To enable the Tripod Mode, you need to slide the switch on the right side of the remote controller to the “T” position. If you haven’t done so already, you’ll also need to enable the “Multiple Flight Modes” setting in the “Main Controller Settings” section of DJI GO 4.
