After I got the Mavic Air 2, I did more research and found that there is still a lot of information that we should know before purchasing.

Can Mavic Air 2 shoot 4k QuickShot?
Yes. Mavic Air 2 supports shooting 4K/30fps videos in MP4 or MOV format.
Is Mavic Air 2 capable of true 48 MP photos?
No. It is actually not true 48 MP, it’s basically 12 MP sensor with x4 Bayer filer in front.
Can Mavic Air 2 camera zoom?
Yes, Mavic Air 2 supports up to 2x digital zoom when shooting 4K/30 fps and 2.7k/60 fps. If you are shooting in 1080p you can zoom in up to 4x at 60 fps.
Does Mavic Air 2 video has D-Log?
No.

Yes, it has Tripod Mode, and you can easily turn it on on the remote controller.
Can Mavic Air 2 shoot RAW photos?
Yes.
2. Mavic Air 2 Compatibility
Does Mavic Air 2 Remote Controller work with an iPad/iPad mini/iPad Pro?
No. The max mobile device size that Mavic Air 2 remote controller supports are up to 180×86×10 mm (Height×Width×Thickness). If you want to fly your Mavic Air 2 with an iPad or Android Tablet, you will need to use a tablet mount.
Which SD card does Mavic Air 2 use?

Does Mavic Air 2 work with DJI Goggles?
No. Unfortunately, it’s not compatible with the DJI Goggles or DJI Goggles RE. There is no sign showing that DJI will add it in the future.
Can Mavic Air 2 use DJI SmartController?
Yes. Mavic Air 2 supports using the DJI SmartController. The new firmware was released on Sep 22. You can now use the Smart Controller to fly your Mavic Air 2 after updating the firmware. Here are the details:

No. It is said that DJI doesn’t open the SDK so Litchi is not supported yet.

Does Mavic Air 2 Support Live Streaming?

Yes. There is no big difference flying at night, but you need to be extremely careful. If you fly too high or too far away, it’s hard for you to spot the drone.
Can I fly Mavic Air 2 indoors?
Yes. But it’s not recommended. If you have to fly indoors, make sure you have the propeller guard on, keep the children and pets away.
How much wind can Mavic Air 2 handle?
The max wind that Mavic Air 2 can handle is level 5.
Does Mavic Air 2 Have Ocusync?
Yes, Mavic Air 2 packs Ocusync 2.0.

4. Mavic Air 2 Problems and troubleshooting
How to install Mavic Air 2 ND Filters?
Installing ND Filters is not a daunting task, but you still need to be careful. Here is a quick guide:
Step 1 Hold the Mavic Air 2 Camera tight
Step 2 Rotate the stock UV counterclockwise to take it off. It’s locked very tight, so just keep trying if you can’t rotate it.
Step 3 Take an ND Filter out and put it on the camera
Step 4 Rotate the ND Filter on the Camera until you lock it in.
Do I need to register with FAA?
Yes. Mavic Air 2 weights 570 g. Only drones that are under 250 g don’t need to register. If you want a register-free drone, learn more about the Mavic Mini.
What to do when Mavic Air 2 video cache is full?
You can adjust the max video catch capacity accordingly. Here is a quick guide:
- Find the 3 dots on the upper right corner of the DJI Fly main screen and click on it.
- Choose the camera menu in the pop-up and then scroll down until you see the Max Video Cache Capacity.
How to update Mavic Air 2 Firmware?

Mavic Air 2 Remote controller comes with a USB-C port at the bottom, just connect the Mavic Air 2 charger with the remote.

After you connect your drone with the remote, you will be able to see the camera view. Click the icon on top of the video shooting button, then you will be able to find HyperLapse at the bottom.
How to Calibrate Mavic Air 2 compass and IMU?

My obstacle avoidance stoped braking it beeps and on bypass everything works just not on brake acts like sensors are off but they are not its only 85 days old

My Mavic Air 2 has been showing camera on the phone controller, slowing and dragging and I complain to DJI and I paid $69 for a replacement through my warranty. They send me the new one only to have the same problem. Is it the controller gimbal wheel or my phone or just another bad Air 2 ?

My Mavic air 2 won’t go left to right. Only forward and back. Why?
Hi Solis, you may have turned on the new safety feature that deactivates the left/right movements on the right stick, turn it off and your drone should be OK.
Move your controller button to normal and then back to sport. That will fix it.
Look for the 3 dots Menu on your Phone Screen (connected on the >Controller), up right corner and look for Controller tag, go down the list of switches and find the one to unlock the side to side flying mode.

When starting the MA2 with sd card already inside I get a prompt saying no sd inserted switching to internal storage. I then need to pop out the sd card or turn off the drone and start it back up for it to recognize the sd card. Is there a fix for this? Tried 3 different cards with same result. I have a problem with my Mavic air 2. Most of the time whilst flying, it tells me of maximum ultimate altitude and max distance reached, but only at 30m and 43 in altitude. Sometimes it flys well. What could be the course of this? How do I resolve. Even if the distance and altitude are set way higher what it says…

For some reason the Mavic Air 2 remote is now constant beeping with the four lights chasing. I believe I may have been trying to calibrate the remote for no apparent reason and now every time I power up it keeps beeping . Never had any issues prior to this.
